MTD Karting is a Limited Liability Company that was started in 2003 by Ken Tanner to market and sell a series of Technical

Publications for the Karting enthusiast. Entitled “KART SMART:A Technical Approach to Sport and Competition Karting”, two

basic Volumes and a series of Track Supplements were in the publishing cycle.

Volume 1 introduces you to the world of Karting and details each part of the Kart before beginning the final assembly. Volume 2

takes the completed Kart and details the analytical aspects of Kart performance before going to the track for testing and actual

race events. A series of Track Supplements take you to a series of Kart Tracks around the U.S. and gives you an up front and

personal view of each track.

In 2004, MTD Karting became the Southwest Dealer for Sodikart USA selling the complete series of chassis. Today, MTD

Karting continues to sell the Sodikart series of chassis, electric start IAME 80cc Gazelle and 125cc Leopard TAG (Touch and Go) engines,

TM K9C and K9ES (electric start) shifter engines, MG tires, AIM, and a variety of kart accessories from several suppliers. Track support is

always available from friendly advice to weighing the kart, laser alignment, and tire mounting.
