Interested in Karting?

If you are, MTD Karting LLC is the place to start. Karting is for racing enthusiasts from the 5 year old youngster to the older 60 plus Club. There is a Class that can be found for every age and walk of life.

MTD Karting LLC serves the Phoenix, Arizona Road Racing and Sprint Racing Karter.

ROAD RACING:

Road Racing is held at the Firebird International Raceway track located in the Chandler, Arizona. Three track configuration are available; Main (1.6 miles), East (1.25 miles), and West (1.1 miles). The Races are sponsored by Southwest Karters (SWK) under the leadership of ProAutosports. SWK uses International Kart Federation (IKF) rules. Kart competitor eligibility with regards to age or grouping is determined by driver proficiency.

Karts are arraigned by groups:

Super Karts: Karts with 2 stroke 250cc gearboxes and 4 stroke 450cc gearboxes

         Shifter:                 Karts with 2 stroke 125cc ICC and Moto gearboxes and , 4 stroke 250cc gearboxes
         TAG:                      Electric start clutch karts. Other clutch karts may be included depending on speed.
         Challenge:          Other karts of lower speed, skill level, or driver age.

SPRINT RACING:

Sprint Racing is held at the Phoenix Kart Racing Association (PKRA) track located in the Adobe Dam Recreational Area near Deer Valley, Arizona. The track is operated by a Local Club Membership and is directed by an elected Board of Directors. The track is 0.7 miles long and has a Winter and Summer season. PKRA uses International Kart Federation (IKF) and SKUSA rules. Kart Classes are based on drivers age, total weight, and type of kart.
